Date
12 - 23 November 2019
Location
The Bunker Theatre
Role
Director
i will still be whole (when you rip me in half) is the debut play by acclaimed theatre critic Ava Wong Davies: a lyrical interlinking of monologues devoted to blood ties, the cycle of trauma, and what we inherit from our parents. It was developed over a series of R&D performances at The Yard Theatre, Theatre Deli and VAULT Festival before receiving a full production at The Bunker in November 2019.
“Beautiful, brutally honest…a startling openness and vulnerability that draws in the audience.”- The Stage
“Like ivy, this is a play that clings.” - Lyn Gardner
“Helen Morley’s delicate direction creates a subtle mirror of the two women’s movements. (like shadows caught at the edge of each other’s vision.)” - Exeunt Magazine
The two performers balance each other so well under Helen Morley’s direction (...) This is a gem of a play, soft and lyrical and full of promise. - TheSpyInTheStalls.
